Based on Topstep rules checked on 12 Oct 2026: the max loss level rises with the end-of-day balance and never moves down; in the Combine it locks at the starting balance, in a funded account it locks at $0 and is set to $0 after the first payout. This tool only uses end-of-day balances; in practice the firm also monitors unrealized P&L during the session, so a trade deep in the red can breach even if the day closes positive.
